Encaustic

Stadnyk describes the texture of encaustics, as feeling like working with melted butter, but with brighter colours. It feels great and is a wonderful abstract way for her to create wonderful textures.

Using a painting medium in which pigments are suspended in a binder of hot wax. Stadnyk created an abstract work using gold, black and natural coloured beeswax. Also on display are a photograph and a vial of found materials.
